Forgotten legends
After the spectacular multiple victories of the two-cylinder HONDA NXR 750 in the Paris Dakareditions from 1986-1989 and the high sales figures of the series offspring XRV 650Africa Twin directly
in the factory design, YAMAHA finally had to counter in 1989, because more powerful two-cylinder touring enduros were clearly in vogue.
The new "About TÉNÉRÉ" had then also beside the abbreviation XTZ 750 the request in the name: SUPER TÉNÉRÉ sounded really phenomenal, the optics was clearly based on the rally racerand the
performance of 69 hp promised a lot, after all, almost 5 hp more than the dethrottled HONDA.
YZE750T Super Ténéré The YZE750T Super Ténéré, which dominated the 1991 Paris-Dakar Based on the newly developed XTZ750 Super Ténéré production model, efforts to enter the Paris-Dakar Rally as a
factory machine were accelerated. In 1990, the 802.5 cc YZE750T Super Ténéré factory machine brought Carlos Mas to second place. In 1991, eight riders from the Sonauto team and the Italian team
participated in the rally with a more advanced version of the machine.
This year finally brought success: the riders of the YZE750T Super Ténéré took all the places on the podium, giving Yamaha its first victory in ten years. It was the moment when the dedication
and determination of Jean-Claude Olivier and the Yamaha development team to win the rally again finally came to fruition.
This fact and the Rally Dakar successes guided EXESOR to build this rally raid bike.
It is the first build of a special series named “Forgotten legends”.
In honor to the great bike YZE750T.

Racing success
Great Britain’s Rodney Gould won the 1970 250 cc World Championship on a TD2, with Australian, Kel Carruthers coming in second, also riding a TD2. Gould won six races in the 1970 Grand Prix
Motorcycle season, clinching the title at the Nations Grand Prix, Monza.
Yamaha Factory racing had withdrawn from the championship over revised competition rules in 1969. “Privateer” racing with many dealer-backed racing efforts competed against factory teams for the
World Championship.

Ivan Gerald Mauger OBE (4 October 1939 – 16 April 2018) was a motorcycle speedway rider from New Zealand. He won a record six World Championships (Finals), a feat equalled only with the inclusion of the Speedway GP Championships by Tony Rickardsson of Sweden who won one World Final and five GP Championships. Mauger rode for several British teams – Wimbledon Dons, Newcastle Diamonds, Belle Vue Aces, Exeter Falcons, and the Hull Vikings. In 2010, Mauger was named an FIM Legend for his motorcycling achievements

Now the new aluminium push rod tubes are finished. The construction consists of 3 pieces. A spring is responsible for the lenght compensation. Currently I am looking for a stock rocker box for the T70. The former owner of the machine modified it in a way that I dont like. I want to keep the original idea of the valve lubrication. Hopefully I will find one of these very rare spare parts.

Update of roller starter was required because it was still too weak. Reasons were too small cross sections of the supply cables and bad contact of the battery clamps.
Following improvements have been made:
+ supply cable 50mm2
+ screwable battery terminals
+ surface of roller rougher
+ 2 little rollers added to prevent the tire to run left or right side

Took a flight to Düsseldorf getting to Bad Salzuflen in Germany.
From 30.11 until 02.12 the biggest custombike exhibition in Europe was located there.
It was my first time there but for sure not the last. Famous custom bike builders showed their bikes there. It was really a great show. Below some impressions from the weekend.
I will be there again in 2013 for sure. Who knows, probably with the Exesor Cafe Racer.

Hidden throttle systems for 1 inch handle bars are available at nearly every Harley Davidson custom parts provider. The thing gets complicated if the handlebar has a diameter of 22mm. Also in the case of the ExesoR Cafe Racer project a standard clip on handle bar is applied, of course with a diameter of 22mm. The solution was found after many hours of research in the “World Wide Web”. By coincident a NSU Motorcycle spare part page was found. In the 1950´s some models use a throttle which was moving linear in the handle bar. The whole mechanism was ordered immediately with the hope for getting it applied on the standard clip on. The technique was simple but several changes on the right clip on were necessary. The big issue was to widen the last 20mm of the clip on pipe from a diameter of 16mm to 18mm. This venture was more complicated than supposed because of the welded on pipe clamp it was no more possible to fix the clip on in a turning machine. Also fixing it tight enough on the milling machine for processing with a 18mm milling cutter was not possible because is unpropitious shape. The problem was solved by widen the hole by using an 18mm drill. Once this was done, the pipe had to be processed on the milling machine. A 10mm wide slot had to be milled in the pipe for the slider. A first function test was positive. The displacement of the throttle cable from closed throttle to open throttle is about 45mm. This should be enough to actuate the Keihin carburetors. Next step will be to fit the miniature stainless steel START push button in the clip on pipe.

David Matl (www.davidmatl.com), an ambitious photographer from Salzburg, started a project with ExesoR. David Matl finished his education with a Master degree for Photograpy in June 2012 and can fall back upon many years of experience.
The scope of the project is to take professionally high quality pictures from Exesor motorcycles. The first shooting was on 11th of August in the Exesor garage in Seewalchen. The focus of this shooting was on the Ducati Rat Fighter.
The results are amazing!!! But what should I say, images can say more than thousand words!

In 2011 I travelled to London for a short trip. One of the highlights was to visit the legendary ACE CAFE. Not that difficult to find but nevertheless it is quite far from the city centre.
With the BAKERLOO line to the station “Stonebridge Park”. From there it takes you about 5 minutes on foot.
It is a great place! Very cozy restaurant with good food (I recommend the burgers there).
I spend some time at the Ace to have the one or other Guinness. Already from my home in Austria I arranged a meeting with Mark Wilsmore at the ACE. Of course he appeared as agreed.
Best of all, he signed my left clip on handle.
He is really a very symphatically guy.
The signed part gets a place of honor . It will be assembled at my ExesoR Café Racer.
Thank you Mark!

Basically I am quite late to start with a Blog for the current project ExesoR Cafe Racer but however it is still not too late due to there is a lot of work remaining.
Caused by the fact that the greater percentage of the visitors on my website speaks English I decided to do the Blog not in my mother tongue instead I try it with English. At this point I want to apologize for mistakes in grammar and spelling in advance.
As I already mentioned under the menu Projects \ ExesoR Cafe Racer I spent more than 200 hours. This was the state of middle 2011. In the meantime it should be around 400 working hours according to my records.
Enough the facts, enjoy the upcoming Blog!
